Tawakal Travels, a partner in Salam TV’s Salam Road to Makkah campaign, on Tuesday held a send-off ceremony for its 2026 Hajj pilgrims at Masjid Magoba, where the company’s offices are located.
More than 60 pilgrims are set to travel with Tawakal Travels to the holy cities of Makkah and Madinah for this year’s Hajj pilgrimage.
Addressing the pilgrims, Sheikh Ashraf Bazannyanengo urged them to maintain the highest level of discipline throughout their journey and encouraged them to make the most of their time in the holy land through prayer and good deeds.
He reminded the pilgrims that performing Hajj is a rare opportunity and advised them to drink ZamZam water abundantly while in Makkah and Madinah, describing it as blessed water.
Muhammad Mayambala, the Managing Director of Tawakal Travels, thanked the pilgrims for trusting the company with their spiritual journey and assured them of quality services during their stay in Saudi Arabia.
Meanwhile, Sheikh Huzaimah Mutumba stressed the importance of punctuality to avoid inconveniences during travel arrangements.
He confirmed that the pilgrims are scheduled to depart for Hajj on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, and are expected to return on June 3, 2026.
Hajji Makumbi Abdunoor reminded the pilgrims that they were among the few people chosen and invited by Allah to fulfil the fifth pillar of Islam. He encouraged them to pray for those who were unable to make the pilgrimage this year.
The chief guest, HW Lubega Kaddunabi, called on the pilgrims to exercise patience, uphold discipline, show love toward one another, and spend responsibly while in the holy land.
He also urged them to pray for their families, relatives, friends, and the nation during their time in Makkah and Madinah.
During the ceremony, Justice Lubega Kaddunabi handed over travel kits containing essential pilgrimage items to the departing pilgrims.
The send-off marked Tawakal Travels’ continued participation in the Salam Road to Makkah campaign, an initiative aimed at facilitating Ugandan Muslims in fulfilling the Hajj pilgrimage, one of the central pillars of Islam.
